How to Play Hotel Tycoon 2

Hotel Tycoon 2 is closer to a service sim than a classic button tycoon. Income is a completed stay. If you only build pretty rooms and never click a guest, the HUD cash number does not move. The four official verbs

The Roblox description lists four jobs. They map to clicks you will actually make:

Official line	What you do
Serve guests by clicking on them	Click the NPC, then escort or send them to a free bed
Let guests sleep and enjoy activities	Leave them on the bed; later, activities furniture gives them something to do
Collect payments when they check out	Interact with the finished stay — do not AFK in build mode without a collector or a Bellhop
Build, expand, and upgrade	Open build mode, place beds/laundry/bathrooms, hire and level staff

Skip any row and the next row fails. A guest who never got a bed will not sleep. A dirty bed will not take the next guest. A stay you never closed will not pay.

Click, path, bed

Guests spawn at the entrance and form a queue if you are slow. Click the first one, walk toward a room with a free bed, and confirm the bed. If the path is blocked by a wall you just sold or a grid piece with no door, the guest idles. Press [E] to leave build, fix the corridor, then click again.

One bed equals one stay. Two guests cannot share a starter mattress. If the lobby is a crowd, you need more beds, not a faster click. That is the entire reason the rooms tier list puts extra beds in S-tier.

Sleep, activities, laundry

While a guest sleeps, do not stand on them. Use the time to:

• Start a washer cycle if a previous room is dirty
• Place a bathroom or nightstand from build mode
• Hire a Janitor if you are already late

Activities (catalog group of the same name) are not required for the first hour. They matter when you chase 4-star and 5-star on the star checklist. Empty lots with only beds feel cheap to the rating meter.

After checkout the bed is dirty. Pick up linens — the promotional shots show a basket of pillows — and take them to the washing machine. The machine UI can show 0x when it is empty. Start the wash, then remake. The “Bed clean yet?” badge wants 15 remakes in one session without leaving. Nobody has been awarded that badge in public stats, so the counter may still be broken in BETA. Try it anyway if you like chores; it is still good practice.

Checkout cash and Diamonds

Cash is the brown-green HUD number. Diamonds sit beside it. Checkout pays cash. Diamonds come from passes, rare gifts, and maybe codes when a string exists. Do not spend Diamonds on cosmetics in the first hour.

If cash does not rise after a visible crowd, you missed the collect prompt or the stay never finished because the bed stayed dirty. A Bellhop helps the escort step; it does not always auto-collect unless you bought an auto-collect pass. Community autofarm loaders advertise cash pickup as a feature if you accept the account risk.

Keeping the loop alive

• One washer per cluster of rooms on the first floor. Do not put the only machine on floor 7 until elevators are reliable.
• Trash and benches along the outdoor path so guests are not walking through clutter. Outdoor prices start around $95.
• Staff when your click speed is the bottleneck. Janitor for dirty beds, Bellhop for escorts — hire guide.
• Friends on a 6-player plot: one door, one laundry, one build. Multiplayer.

When the loop is boring, you are ready to expand: extra floors, glass elevator keypad (G plus 1–7), and a 3-star push. That is how to expand, not this page.

Mobile uses the same prompts with on-screen buttons. If the build catalog covers the guest, close it with Exit before you click.
