Hotel Tycoon 2 First-Hour Checklist

This is the first hour of Hotel Tycoon 2 as a list you can leave on a phone. Prose versions live on Getting Started and how to play. Do not skip ahead to pools. If a row is blocked, the row above is unfinished.

Before you click a guest

• Join the Lycke place from official links — confirm the title says BETA Hotel Tycoon 2.
• Hop if every plot is taken (6-player cap).
• Claim an empty plot and create a new save.
• Pick a style: Modern, Basic, or Fancy. Modern is fine.
• Name the hotel. Guests do not care.
• Glance at codes. If the table is empty, close it.

First stays

• Click the first guest.
• Walk them to a bed and assign it.
• Let them sleep. Do not stand on them.
• When the room is dirty, carry linens to the washer.
• Remake the bed.
• Collect checkout cash.
• Repeat until you have done this twice without panicking.

If guests idle in the lobby, you have no free clean bed or the path is blocked. Exit build with [E] and look.

First spends (cash, not Diamonds)

Use the order from how to make money and the rooms tier list:

• Second bed (or third if two guests already wait).
• Washer / laundry kit if the starter loop feels far from the rooms.
• One bathroom cluster.
• One Outdoor bin on the sidewalk (~$95 in snapshots).
• Do not buy art, pools, or arches yet.

First staff

• Hire a Janitor when dirty rooms beat you. Staff roles.
• Hire a Bellhop when the door beats you. Bellhop.
• Put spare cash into their XP, not into a duplicate hire. Staff tier list.

If friends are on the plot, one person catalogs, one person laundry, until NPCs exist — multiplayer.

End of hour

• Two rooms cycle clean without you sprinting the whole time.
• You know where cash and Diamonds sit on the HUD.
• You have not started a second floor unless the ground floor is boring.
• Open the star checklist if you want 3-star next.
• Bookmark updates so a shutdown does not surprise you.

Optional and later: autofarm only after the washer exists, on an alt. How to expand only after staff or a clean loop.

Abort conditions

Stop decorating and return to laundry if stars drop, if checkout cash is flat, or if a guest has been in the lobby for a full wash cycle. The star rating list explains why a pretty 1-star hotel is an F.

If a friend joins mid-list, do not hand them the catalog. Park them on laundry until the washer row is ticked. Then they can watch how to expand while you keep the door.

Diamonds in the first hour are a trap. Ignore the shop unless you already understood auto-collect from BETA notes. Cash from two clean stays buys more hotel than a panic pass.
